JOB PURPOSE
To provide technical consultancy and advice on more complex matters in order to address issues which
require a high degree of technical expertise for engineering study and design functions.
To provide Engineering expertise in areas where standards, methods, practices and techniques are not
clearly defined or are still in the process of development in mechanical and rotating equipment.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
Description
Policies, Processes and Procedures
- Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and
monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled
manner
Day- to-day operations
- Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the technical
support department to ensure compliance with the established
standards and procedures - Provides support to Operations and Maintenance, visits plants to
visualize problems and provides solutions
Technical Support and Troubleshooting
- Provides in-house consultation and technical advice to ESD and
other KJO departments - Anticipates and solves unprecedented engineering problems
- Plans and develops engineering projects with unique engineering
problems involving exploration of subject matter, definition of
scope, investigation and development of novel concepts and
approaches - Troubleshoots and investigates abnormal problems and issue
remedy recommendations
Technical Standards and Assignments
- Acts independently on technical matters
- Interprets standards and all other technical and code to ensure
Company standards are maintained - Performs complex specialised engineering assignments as
technical expert
Procurement
- Inspects equipment at factory to ensure compliance with
specifications and procurement documents
Project Management and Cost Control
- Implements project cost control procedures for the engineering
group control to ensure project costs are controlled within budgets
Leadership and Training
- Provides technical leadership and support in the development of
other less experienced engineers
Reporting
- Prepares section reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet
Company and section requirements, policies and standards
Coaching
- Coaches job family holders on related activities in order to develop and enhance employee’s
capabilities and performance.
Safety, Health & Environment
- Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and
safe work environment
Reporting
- Assists in the preparation of timely and accurate reports for section
in order to meet Company and section requirements, policies and
standards
Related Assignments
- Performs other related duties or assignments, as directed
- May be assigned special administrative or technical duties
- Handles all the responsibilities of the Rotating Equipment and
Mechanical Engineer, when required, to ensure smooth and
uninterrupted flow of work within the section

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & LANGUAGE SKILLS
Academic and professional qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
Languages:
Minimum English language required is KJO L6 – Advanced
